How to get a signed copy of The Edge of Space-Time
Preordering from Loyalty Bookstore Supports the Community!

I am proud to partner with queer, Black and Asian-owned Loyalty Bookstore to create this opportunity for people to get signed, personalized copies of The Edge of Space-Time no matter where they are. Order by March 30, and I will personalize when I stop by Loyalty Books and Lost City Books on April 6 for one of the first events of my book tour (which I’ll be sending a separate email about later). Preorder after 3/30 and before 4/6, and you’ll get a signed copy.
Why choose this book? Loyalty also has some really nice things to say about it:
This stunning and uplifting book takes our understanding of space from cold and distant to the essential essence of our humanity. Theoretical physics, culture, and justice come together in this book to bring us hope.
Why choose Loyalty? For me it’s personal. Loyalty founder Hannah Oliver Depp and I both have roots in the Silver Spring, Maryland area and a shared love of the old Borders Bookstore that used to be there. Hannah opened Loyalty in part to give a new generation that experience of being in a wonderfully curated book space, this time with a powerful commitment to social justice. Over the years, Loyalty has been a wonderful champion for my work. Partnering with them feels natural.
It is also the case that because of the National Guard invasion of Washington, D.C., Loyalty, like many DMV businesses has suffered financially. By preordering, you help their business keep cash flow up, ensuring that a community resource stays open for the people who need it. I hope you’ll not only preorder my book from them but take the time to peruse their site and shop a little. Loyalty regularly puts money back into the community, including a recent fundraiser for Gazans. When you buy indie, you support real people! If you’re not sure how to browse virtually, one of my favorite stops on their site is the BIPOC preorder list.
🤩
Before I go, I also want to direct you to a great website my friend Ashley Fairbanks put together, with a list of resources to help you Stand with Minnesota. I know the news is really hard on the spirit and mind and in far too many cases, the body, but I do think we can win, if we work together. Please do call your members of Congress, regularly. If you’re scared to talk to someone, call during off hours and leave a voicemail. If you’re not sure what to say, 5calls.org will help you.
The universe is too fucking fabulous for nazis and klansmen, y’all!
